Beneath the calm expression lies a remarkable level of detail.

Created during the late 20th century, this vintage seated Buddha draws inspiration from the rich artistic traditions of Tibetan and Sino-Tibetan Buddhism. Seated upon a lotus throne, the figure embodies the serenity, wisdom, and spiritual depth that have made Buddhist art admired across generations.

The lotus throne beneath the figure carries a meaning that has endured for centuries. In Buddhist tradition, the lotus represents purity, spiritual growth, and the path toward enlightenment. Rising from muddy waters and unfolding into a beautiful blossom, it serves as a reminder of the potential for growth and transformation within every individual.

The Buddha’s elongated earlobes and prominent ushnisha, the symbolic crown of wisdom atop the head, are among the most recognizable elements of Buddhist iconography. Together, they represent understanding, insight, and the pursuit of inner awakening.

Cast in metal and finished with a rich dark patina, the sculpture possesses both visual presence and quiet elegance. The contrast between the peaceful expression and the intricate ornamentation creates a piece that continues to reveal new details over time.

The Buddha comes complete on its blackened metal support and with its printed story inside a beautiful envelope.
